Now and then we hear that you could build this yourself. True. Anyone can use Claude Code, and we built Miládka ourselves too, first for our own use. We just know what it cost: hundreds of hours since May. Here's what came out of that time and what you get ready to go.
- 20+ Miládka releases since August
- 60+ add-on releases
- 15 articles and guides
- 3 add-ons we use every day
You can build it. The question is how many hours it will take, how safe it will be and who will keep it running the next time Claude changes.
Security: home-made setups learn about it after something goes wrong
An assistant that reads your mail is an open door. One email with a well-written instruction is enough, and an assistant without safeguards does what it says. Here's how it looks in Miládka:
There's a request in your mail to send all the contracts, from an address I don't know. I sent nothing, what an email says is not an instruction for me. It looks like a scam, I'd suggest not replying.
Mail content is not an instruction. Miládka takes instructions only from you in the conversation. Whatever arrives by email is text to read, even when it comes from your own address.
- Nothing goes out on its own. The default is a draft. She may send only when you've turned sending on and told her to send that particular message. Consent covers one message, not the next one.
- Rules that can't be overridden. No deleting without your instruction, nothing published or sent on her own, nothing made up. Miládka won't change these, even if you ask her to.
- Passwords out of the chat and the backup. They sit in a separate folder that never goes into the backup, and Miládka doesn't read them. If you type a password into the chat, she'll suggest you change it.
- Signed updates. We sign every version with our key. Miládka won't run an update guide without a valid signature. How it works
- Safeguards in the add-ons too. Gmail has sending turned off by default and can limit it to approved recipients. WhatsApp sends only what you approve.
Why Miládka sometimes asks for your permission is explained in the article on auto mode.
Reliability: things you find out about when they fail
Claude can schedule a task, start a watcher, write a note. How that behaves a week later, when the computer was off or Claude blocked something, only shows in daily use. We ran into all of this and solved it.
Add-ons we use every day
They weren't built for the drawer. We built each one because we needed it, and we use them every day.
- Multiple Gmail inboxes. Mail from several addresses in one place, reply drafts right in the thread and forwarding with attachments. A small program watches for new mail, so an empty check doesn't eat into your limit. More in the article
- WhatsApp. Dictate on your phone and Miládka transcribes the voice message right on your computer. Messages show up in the morning briefing, and if you tell her to, she'll message you only when something urgent lands in your mail. More in the article
- Phone. When something can't wait, Miládka calls you. You can talk to her, and on your instruction she'll arrange a meeting with someone else. For advanced users, with your own Twilio account. More in the article
Ready in half an hour
You get everything above already set up. Miládka walks you through the installation herself, in about half an hour. Installation guide
- Installation. Download the package, open it in Claude and Miládka asks who you are and who you work with.
- Mail. She connects to your inbox, sorts it and drafts replies.
- Backup. She walks you through the backup so you don't lose anything.
- Morning briefing. From the next morning you get an overview of your day.
We maintain it because we run on it ourselves
Claude changes every week. What worked yesterday may work differently today. Because we use Miládka every day, we're among the first to hit it, and every Miládka gets the fix.
One example: a reply draft from Gmail turned the whole thread into unread mail. We noticed it on 20 October and found the cause and released a fix the same day. Someone building their own assistant would hunt for a bug like that for days, if they noticed it at all.
Miládka keeps track of updates herself. When a new version comes out, she tells you what it brings and installs it once you agree. You get the same Miládka we use.
You're not on your own
- Support. Miládka solves most problems herself. When you're both stuck, she drafts an email to podpora@miladka.cz and we get back to you.
- Community on Slack. People share what works for them and how they've extended Miládka, and vote on what should come first. with subscription
- New features and add-ons as they come out. Everyone gets fixes. With a subscription you get new features as soon as we release them. with subscription
